Ms. Cappella is a Principal with the Pittsburgh law firm of Gentile, Horoho & Avalli, P.C. Ms. Cappella received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh and her B.A. from the Pennsylvania State University. She has concentrated her practice in the area of matrimonial law. Ms. Cappella's bar admissions include the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Ms. Cappella is a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and became a member of the National Advocates Top 100 Lawyers in 2014. Attorney Cappella is an active member of the Family Law Sections of the American, Pennsylvania, and Allegheny County Bar Associations. Ms. Cappella is currently serves as a Member of the Allegheny County Bar Association Judiciary Committee and as the Co-Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section Program Committee. She was honored as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer, 2009-present and honored in Best Lawyers in America in 2011-present. Philadelphia Magazine named Ms. Cappella as one of the Top 50 Women Attorneys in Pennsylvania, 2012. Ms. Cappella is a frequent lecturer for the PBA and ACBA in a number of areas, including Family Law, Appellate Procedure, Ethics, and Technology. Ms. Cappella co-authored Slicing up the Pie: Equitable Distribution in Pennsylvania, in its 2009 and 2012 Editions.

Ms. Cappella is a charter member of the Allegheny County chapter of the Matrimonial American Inn of Court CCLXXII. Ms. Cappella has also served as a council member of the ACBA Family Law Section. Ms. Cappella is an Allegheny County Bar Foundation Fellow. Ms Cappella is a Sustaining Member in the Junior League of Pittsburgh, having served on its Public Affairs Committee.
