Family Law Attorney Becomes Part of Firm Leadership

Pittsburgh – Gentile, Horoho & Avalli, P.C. (GHA), a leading law firm in the areas of family law and estate planning, administration, and litigation, has named attorney Carla Schiff Donnelly a principal of the firm.

Ms. Donnelly joined GHA in 2013 and focuses her practice on divorce litigation, with a concentration on high asset financial and complex custody issues, including grandparent rights matters. She also specializes in preparing and negotiating prenuptial agreements.

Prior to joining the firm, Carla practiced family law for 11 years at Stern and Edlin, P.C., a leading domestic relations firm in Atlanta, Georgia, where she handled all aspects of divorce and post-divorce cases.

Carla is a founding member of the Smart Divorce Institute, LLC in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is an active participant in the Children’s Issues Sub-Committee of the Family Law Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Women in the Profession section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

She was named a “Rising Star” by Georgia Super Lawyers and one of “Georgia’s Legal Elite” by Georgia Trend Magazine and selected for inclusion into the 2013 Edition of the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers. She was also a member of the Collaborative Law Institute of Georgia and served on the board of the Visions Anew Institute, a nonprofit organization in the Atlanta area whose mission is to assist individual through the divorce process with information, integrity, and dignity.

Ms. Donnelly holds a bachelor of arts from Lehigh University and her law degree from Emory University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in both Georgia and Pennsylvania.

She has authored several family law articles, which have been published in the Huffington Post and other periodicals and has been a frequent presenter at Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars on a variety of family law topics.
